When you draw on the canvas, the application records an array of coordinate points representing your stroke path. To analyze this path, our algorithm first determines the geometric center by averaging the X and Y positions of all recorded points. It then calculates the average distance (radius) from this center point to each point along your path.
The consistency score represents the standard deviation from this average radius. If some parts of your stroke are flat or sharp, the radius values fluctuate, which decreases the score. A lower Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) translates directly to a higher consistency percentage.
Additionally, the closure score measures the gap between where your pen went down and where it was lifted. The algorithm compares this distance to the overall circumference of the shape. If the start and end coordinates do not match, a closure penalty is applied, preventing users from achieving high scores by drawing simple spirals or lines.
We analyze the path of your drawing by finding its geometric center and calculating the variance of all points relative to that center. A perfect circle has a zero variance, where every point is equidistant from the middle.
